Regardless of the version, Tale of Despereaux is the type of game you need to avoid at all costs. Despereaux’s movement and jumping (especially on the PS2) is a disaster; combat is a serious exercise in button-mashing; and the lack of camera control, as well as any real sense of depth, makes playing through Despereaux a chore. No matter where you look, you’ll only see poorly executed game design. I strongly advise you to save your money and leave this one on the shelf.
